Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for Back Office Processes

To enhance individual competencies and strengthen institutional capabilities, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has embarked on an initiative of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) of its Back Office processes, announced Prof. VN Rajasekharan Pillai, VC, IGNOU.

This will facilitate availability of consistent and integrated data to all concerned as integrated solution. Further it will be extended to cover all related functionalities starting from Study Centres, Regional Centres & Concerned Service Divisions and Schools at the H.Q.

IGNOU is in search of a dedicated team for its ERP project and wishes to appoint various technical staff viz. Joint Director – Team Leader, Dy. Directors – Coordinator at Module Level, Software Engineers – Operational Expertise at Module Level, Data Processing Asstts- Validation (Migration/Customisation & Data Entry Operators – Data preparation /Editing/ Entry.

To make it a successful venture, IGNOU has also invited its employees interested in participating to send their nominations for the contest to give name and logo for IGNOUs ERP Project and win an exciting prize of Rs. 5000/-. The entries can be in the form of title, punch lines and logo for the project. The panel of judge (s) will select the best entry from all the nominations received.

Employees can send their nominations to erp@ignou.ac.in. Results will be displayed on notice boards in IGNOU campus and on www.ignou.ac.in

The last date for receiving the entries is 9th February 2008.
