DURATION: 2 years.

CITIZENSHIP: Indian Nationals can apply under the General or MAHE category. Foreign nationals or Non Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI category.

QUALIFICATIONS: The candidates must have passed BPharm from a recognized University with minimum of 50% marks.

GENERAL CATEGORY: Admissions are on the basis of rank obtained in an all India EPSI National Admission Test (ENAT 09).

MAHE CATEGORY: Admissions are on the basis of rank obtained in an all India EPSI National Admission Test (ENAT 09) and the marks scored in the theory papers of all subjects in the university examination. These candidates are also eligible for general category seats according to their general category ranks. Those applying under this category must have studied and passed all the years of the qualifying examination from the constituent institutions of Manipal University.

FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: Admissions are made on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying examination.

Candidates can apply either under General/MAHE category or Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting applications under both General/MAHE and Foreign/NRI categories will be considered only under the General category. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances.

TEST PATTERN: The test duration is 2 hours and consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of the objective type. The approximate distribution of questions is given below:

Pharmaceutical Analysis (25), Pharmaceutical Chemistry (25), Pharmacology (25), Pharmacy Practice (25), Pharmacognosy (25), Pharmaceutics (25), Pharmaceutical Marketing, Management & Jurisprudence (25), Biochemistry, Pathology, Physiology, Microbiology and Biotechnology (25).

The ENAT will be held between 28.05.09 and 10.06.09. The candidates can select the test schedule of their choice.

GENERAL CATEGORY: Based on the marks obtained in ENAT 09, Manipal University will declare a list of all the candidates applied under this category in the order of merit.

MAHE CATEGORY: The merit list is prepared by taking 50% each of the marks scored in ENAT 09 and total marks scored in all the university theory papers of the qualifying examination. One percentage of marks will be deducted for each failure from the above total. Each failure in a particular subject will be counted as one; for example for a candidate failing in Anatomy and Physiology in a particular examination, the number of failures is counted as two. Non appearance in a particular subject of an examination for whatever reason is also counted as a failure.

All the above merit lists will be displayed on 16.06.09 in the website.

MAHE category candidates who do not submit attested copies of marks cards of all attempts for each semester/year and attempt certificate along with the FORM will not be considered under this category.

FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: A separate merit list of the applicants under the Foreign/NRI category will be prepared based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and those selected for admission will be informed separately.
