Central IT College shines

GUWAHATI, March 23: The Central IT College is one of the colleges in the Northeast where extra-curricular activities are given importance as much as curricular activities. The college has proved time and again with the excellent performance by its students in sports, cultural and other socio-literary competitions and activities over the years. Synchisis 2009 is an inter-institutional socio-cultural and literary meet organized by Gauhati Medical College Hospital every year. The meet presents a plethora of events that provides a very good platform for the students to showcase their talents.

In this competition also a contingent of around 95 students from the Central IT College had participated and performed spectacularly. The hunsori group of the college has been awarded the first prize, the group got a cash amount of Rs 10,000 with a trophy and certificate. A student of the college also got the first prize in solo song competition in the Bhupendra Sangeet Category and second prize in Modern Assamese Song Category. Jasmine Chetia Phukan had won the second prize in the Bihu Kunwori competition and got a cash prize of Rs 2,000. In the Group Dance Category too the college got the second prize, stated in a release.
