Post Graduate Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (PGDTPPE)

B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Power/ Control & Instrumentation Engineering. Those appearing in their final year examination can also apply. However they must submit their provisional degree at the time of counseling.

Selection Criteria: Merit based on a Common Entrance Test (CET) followed by counseling. CET will be held on 14.06.2009 at 8 centres (Faridabad, New Delhi, Nagpur, Durgapur, Bangalore, Guwahati, Nangal (Punjab) and Neyveli).

Age Limit: For non-sponsored candidates the age limit as on 31.8.2009 is 30 years. No age limit for the sponsored candidate.

Total Seats: 307. Reservation for OBC / SC /ST/ physically challenged as per Govt. of India Norms. 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power utilities having more than one year experience as on the date of counseling and more than 60% marks in Engineering Degree.

Course Fee: For non-sponsored candidates: Rs. 1, 25,000/- (in three installments). For candidates sponsored from SEBs/ PSUs/ Private Utilities Rs. 1, 50,000 /- lump-sums at the time of admission. There is no fee concession for any category of candidates.


SAARC Countries: US$ 7,000/-

Other Countries: US$ 8,000/- The cost of Transportation to industries/power stations is to be borne by the participants

Applications are to be filled online with the demand draft(The demand draft for the prescribed registration fees of Rs. 700/- in favour of NPTI, payable at New Delhi must be ready at the time of registration) and other details in our site, Each applicant will be given a unique ID on successful registration at site. This ID must be preserved for future references. one registration hardcopy along with the testimonials(refer website) and Demand Draft should be sent to the Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (NR), Badarpur, New Delhi-110044 along with three passport size photographs (with name & ID written on backside) latest by 04.05.2009. The registration shall be confirmed only after the receipt of the hard copy of registration details with Demand Draft.
