The survey comprises a set of questions involving different parameters of various aspects. Further, importance was given on general information, the size of the university, student community, faculty resources, teaching and learning or academic facilities, international exposure, career opportunities, infrastructure and social and environmental responsibilities.

Experienced academicians or professors, who are outside the purview of this research, assigned marks accordingly. The rank has been determined on the total score accrued by each university in nine sections.
