Ayurved institute launches research-based journal

GUWAHATI, April 6 – Sri Bajrang Ayurved Bhawan, one of the oldest organisations doing research in the field of Ayurved, has launched a quarterly scientific research-based journal on health issues.

The magazine, titled ‘Pragayur, Quest for Healthy Living’ is stated to be the first-of- a- kind endevour in the North-east which will highlight research works being carried out at various institutes in the region as well as other well known Ayurvedic institutes of the country.

The journal was formally released on Sunday at Haryana Bhawan by former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Kanak Sen Deka and the honorary general secretary of All India Ayurvedic Congress, New Delhi, Ram Prasad Mishra in the presence of professors and scholars from Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Guwahati and other distinguished personalities in the field.

The meeting was presided over by Dr Dhaneswar Kalita, principal, Government Ayurvedic College, Guwahati, Dr RK Sharma, director grade scientist of the North Eastern Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat was the guest of honour.

Dinesh Baruah, former registrar, Gauhati University and Dr J Bezbaruah, director, SKM Ayurvedic Institute, Guwahati were also present. ASSAM TRIBUNE
