Lingaya's University Admission

Admission Information

Through this admission brochure, University invites Applications from eligible candidates for B.Tech. (Regular and Part Time), Master of Business Administration (Regular and Part Time), Master in Computer Applications and M.Tech. Programmes.

Admission Procedure

B.Tech. (Regular)

1. Admission for B.Tech. (Regular) shall be made according to the Merit list to be prepared, giving Weightage to Marks of AIEEE (09) Exam, and PCM of Qualifying Exam i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent from a Recognised Board. While preparing the list, 50% Weightage will be given to AIEEE (09) Marks, and 50% to the PCM Marks of the Qualifying Exam, giving equal Weightage to all three, i.e. Physics, Chemistry/Computers, Mathematics.

2. In case of more than one candidate scoring the same marks, the candidate with higher Marks in the AIEEE (09) Exam will rank higher in the order of Merit. If there is still a tie, the candidate, who is senior in age, shall rank higher in order of Merit.

3. The selected candidate shall have to deposit the Fee* as per the Schedule**.

4. If a candidate has been allotted a branch other than his first preference, he/she is required to indicate at the time of payment of Fee, whether he/she would still like to be considered for earlier indicated higher preference. In case he/she declines then there will not be any sliding in that case. In case he/she does not specifically mention, he/she will be automatically considered for sliding and he will have to accept the branch allotted to him/her.

5. The second list, if required shall be displayed as per the Schedule. The list will also consider those applicants who were allotted branch other than their first preference in the first list and had not deposited the Fee and also those who had paid the Fee and volunteered for consideration for higher choices. The candidates who were allotted first preference in the first list and did not deposit the fee by the due date shall not be considered in the second list. There will be no change in the allotted branch after this.

6. In case, the candidate does not deposit Fee by the due date as per Schedule, loses his/her claim on the seat, allotted to him/her. Such seats shall be filled up on the basis of the Merit of the PCM % of the Qualifying Exam i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent.


B.Tech. (Part Time)

1. The student applying for admission to Part Time B.Tech. programme, should be a sponsored candidate and should have passed 3 year Diploma course

2. The first Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the Aggregate Percentage of Marks obtained by the candidate in Three year Diploma Course. If marks in diploma are same then the applicant who is senior in age shall rank higher in the order of merit.

3. The selected candidate shall have to deposit the Fee* as per the Schedule**.

4. If a candidate has been allotted a branch other than his first preference, he/she is required to indicate at the time of payment of Fee, whether he/she would still like to be considered for earlier indicated higher preference. In case he/she declines then there will not be any sliding in that case. In case he/she does not specifically mention, he/she will be automatically considered for sliding and he will have to accept the branch allotted to him/her.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Regular)

1. Admission for M.B.A. shall be made on the basis of the inter se Merit determined on the basis of Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by Lingaya’s University.

2. On the basis of marks obtained in the test, a provisional Merit list will be prepared to short list the candidates, to be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The candidates short listed for Group Discussion and Personal Interview shall attend the same at Lingaya’s University, Faridabad, at their own cost.

3. While preparing the final list in order of Merit, 70% Weightage will be given to the marks obtained in Entrance Test, 15% to Group Discussion and 15% to Personal Interview.

4. In case of more than one candidate scoring the same marks in the final list, the candidate with higher marks in the entrance test will rank higher in the order of Merit. If there is still a tie, the candidate, who is senior in age, shall rank higher in order of Merit.

5. The selected candidate shall have to deposit the Fee* as per the Schedule**.

6. The second list, if required shall be displayed as per the Schedule.

7. The selected candidate shall have to deposit the Fee as per the Schedule.

8. In case the candidate whose name appears in the second list does not deposit the Fee by due date as per the Schedule, loses his/her claim on the seat allotted to him/her. Such seats shall be filled on the basis of the Merit of the Aggregate percentage of the Qualifying Exam.


Master of Business Administration (Part Time)

1. Admission to M.B.A. (Part Time) shall be made on the basis of the inter se Merit determined on the basis of Aggregate percentage of marks in Qualifying Exam (Graduation) , Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

2. On the basis of marks obtained in the Qualifying Exam (Graduation), a provisional Merit list will be prepared to short list the candidates, to be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The candidates short listed for Group Discussion and Personal Interview shall attend the same at Lingaya’s University, Faridabad, at their own cost.

Master of Computer Applications (Regular)

1. Admission for M.C.A. shall be made on the basis of the inter se Merit of Entrance Test, conducted by Lingaya’s University.

2. On the basis of marks obtained in the test, a Merit list will be prepared.

3. In case of more than one candidate scoring the same marks, the candidate, who is senior in age, shall rank higher in order of Merit.

4. The selected candidate shall have to deposit the Fee* as per the Schedule**.

5. The second list, if required shall be displayed as per the Schedule.

6. The selected candidate shall have to deposit the Fee as per the Schedule.

M.Tech.(Part Time)

1. Admission for M.Tech. (Part Time) shall be made according to the Merit list to be prepared, taking in to consideration the GATE percentile, if GATE qualified otherwise on the basis of B.Tech/MCA Marks as detailed below.

2. A GATE Score is valid for two years only. GATE 2009 and the GATE 2008 will only be considered for admission to M.Tech Part Time Programme in the Session 2009-10. In case of more than one candidate scoring the same percentile, the candidate with higher percentage of marks in the Qualifying Exam will rank higher in the order of Merit. If there is still a tie, the candidate, who is senior in age, shall rank higher in order of Merit.

3. For admission to M.Tech. in Computer Science and M.Tech. in Information Technology, MCA will also be considered as eligible entry qualification. The number of seats reserved for candidates with MCA qualification will be only ten each in CSE and IT. The Merit List will be prepared on the basis of GATE Score. If some seats remain vacant, the same shall be filled on the basis of the Aggregate Percentage of Marks in MCA. In case there are still some vacant seats, the same shall be filled up from the candidates with B.Tech./B.E. qualification.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

The applicants are advised to retain a photocopy of the duly filled-in Application Form before the same is submitted to the University.

After the last date is over, application form sent through Registered/Speed Post or by any other means will not be accepted, irrespective of the fact when the form was dispatched/posted. Therefore, candidates are advised to submit their applications at the earliest, instead of waiting for the last date.

No document (copies of certificates, mark sheets etc) and Fee is required to be attached with the Application Form. Also no fee is required to be submitted along with the application form.


MODE OF THE ENTRANCE TEST

Scheme of the Test

1. The test paper will contain 120 objective-type questions in all. Each question will be provided with four alternative answers marked as (1),(2),(3) and (4). Out of these, only one correct or most appropriate answer should be selected and marked on the OMR answer sheet;

2. Each question shall carry four marks;

3. There will be negative marking for incorrect answer. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

4. The Test will be two hours duration and will carry 480 marks;

5. The medium of the test will be English only;

6. Candidates should bring a black ball point pen to the Examination Hall for writing/marking responses (darkening the ovals) on OMR answer sheet. Use of pencil is not allowed.

7. No requests for re-checking, re-evaluation, re-assessment or scrutiny of OMR answer sheet will be entertained;

8. For those who are unable to appear in the test on the scheduled date for any reason, retest will not be held by the University under any circumstances. No refund of Fee is permissible.
