RCHE to introduce new courses

GUWAHATI, April 24 – The Regional College of Higher Education (RCHE), Guwahati one of the flagship institutes of ERD Foundation, affiliated to the North East Hill University (NEHU), is poised to introduce three new graduation courses – BSc Electronics, BSc Environmental Science and Bachelor in Social Work from the upcoming session (2009-2010).

While the course for Environmental Science will focus on environmental management, conservation of ecology and natural resource management, the course BSc Electronics will create professionals who will cater to the requirement of the services sector under electronics and communications industry.

Pass-out students of Social Work stream, to be introduced as a professional course would have a good scope both in private and public sectors including NGOs and as counsellors in various organizations. The particular stream has been introduced by the college under the Department of Social Sciences, NEHU, according to the ERDF sources.

With the introduction of these new courses, RCHE is looking forward to open up a vast scope for employment, entrepreneurship and applied research for the youth of this region. ASSAM TRIBUNE
