Gogoi favours NCERT mode in curriculum

GUWAHATI, July 15 – Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today stressed the need of adopting curriculum in line of the NCERT in the secondary schools of the State so that the students do not face any problem in competing in national level examinations. An official release said that the Chief Minister chaired a meeting of the consultative committee on Education and revealed that total number of seats in the technical institutions in the state increased from this year. If the seats available in the technical institutions in both Government and private sectors are taken into account, the seats available in the state has gone up to 2775 from this year.

The Chief Minister said that the number of seats in the Assam Engineering College has been increased by 60 and that in Jorhat Engineering College has been increased by 85.

Gogoi directed the Education Department to expedite the process of recruitment of teachers for the primary schools.

Participating in the meeting, Education Minister Gautam Bora revealed that the process of recruitment of teachers for the LP and ME schools would be completed within the 100-day programme launched by the Education Department.
