New Delhi: The reserved seats for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and other reserved category is lying vacant at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Out of total reserved seats in B.Tech programme more than 1000 seats still lying vacant.
337 seats are lying vacant in SC category out of the total 1,265 seats. Similarly, of the 659 reserved seats for Scheduled Tribe students, 458 seats remained vacant while 207 of 251 seats could not be filled up in the category of Physically Challenged
In OBC category only 53 seats are lying vacant out of total 1,546. The remaining seats in this category will be given to general category as per the decision of the Supreme Court.
