The Indian Navy - Air Traffic Control Cadre of Executive Branch - 2009

Applications are invited from unmarried Men and Women candidates for Short Service Commission in Air Traffic Control Cadre of Executive Branch, of the Indian Navy for Course commencing Jan 2010 at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Eligibility Conditions

Age: 19 & 1/2 to 25 years born between 02 Jan 1985 and 01 July, 1990 both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications

(a) B Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 60% marks or

(b) M Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics with minimum 55% marks

Note: Candidates who have not completed their Degree (i.e appearing candidates) need not apply.

Physical Standards

(a) Height and Weight: Minimum height - Male- 157 cms, Female -152 cms with correlated weight.

(b) Eye Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses and should not be colour/night blind.

Short Service Commission

Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement and performance/ willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules.
Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

How to apply

(a) Application Forms in accordance with the prescribed format and complete in all respects with superscription on the envelope "APPLICATION FOR SSC (ATC) JAN 2010 COURSE Qualification ........ Percentage ........ % (If applicable)" are to be sent to the address given below by 30 Aug 09 . Applications sent by Speed Post/ Registered Post/ Courier will not be accepted.

(b) Application must be sent in the format given in the advertisement, otherwise it will be rejected.

(c) Application must be accompanied by attested copies of 2 - (i) 10th Standard Certificate for verification of date of birth and other educational certificates.

(ii) Marks statement of all semesters/years.

(d) Application and requisite enclosures must be properly tagged/ stitched by thread only. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) [(IHQ—MoD (Navy)] will not be responsible for loss of enclosures, if sent loose.

Selection Procedure

(i) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their performance in Degree Course. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry ol Defence (Navy) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore /Bhopal/ Coimbatore during Sep to Dec 2009.

(ii) Stage I test consisting of Intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidate who fail to qualify in State l will be routed back on the same day. Stage ll tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and interview will last for 04 days.
Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03 – 05 days).

(iii) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.

(iv) Change of SSB venue for interview is not permissible.

(v) Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the concerned SSB on receipt of call up letter and copy endorsed to Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment (Ol&R), Room No. 204, `C` Wing, Sena Bhawan, IHQ-MoD(N), New Delhi-110011. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availability.

(vi) No compensation will be paid in respect of injury sustained as a result of tests.

(vii) Return 2nd Class Sleeper rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the entry.
