Tezpur police bids farewell to former DGP Srivastava

TEZPUR, Aug 2 – Tezpur police bade farewell to the former Director General of Assam Police, GM Srivastava at a special programme here on Thursday.

In the brief function organised under the aegis of DIG, North Assam Range, Srivastava received the guard of honour presented by Tezpur police led by DSP (HQ) Bibekananda Das.

Following it, top officials of the security forces, paramilitary forces and district administration formally bade farewell to the outgoing DGP.

In the function, DC Sonitpur, Rajesh Prasad, DIG, North Assam, Saitendra Narayan Singh, Conservator, Tezpur, MM Sarmah, SP, Sonitpur Surendra Kumar, SP, Darrang, Imdad Hussain Hazarika, SP, Udalguri, AP Tewari, Commandant, 12th AP Bn BB Chetry, Commandant of 13th AP Bn Randip Barua, CO, 30 Bn of CRPF, Raj Kumar, Co, 46 Assam Rifles, Col. Sarvesh Sarma were present.

Speaking on the occasion, all officers referring to the contribution of the outgoing DGP said that Srivastava was a symbol of inspiration for fighting against all sorts of evils.

Replying to the warm felicitation and farewell, Srivastava urged the jawans to be dedicated in their duty and work for the citizens of the State even after their retirement.

He further urged the police to behave in a friendly manner with the public. ASSAM TRIBUNE
