Major Subject Groups, Question Papers and Writing Answers in the Examination

(i) The examination shall have one question paper for each of the 20 major subject-groups, consisting of 150 multiple-choice, objective type questions, each with four options and also 10 cross-matching type questions, each having five sub-questions/pairings for every subject-group paper. The details of the 20 major subjectgroups are given in Table 2.1

(ii) In each subject-group, 150 multiple choice, objective type questions would be serially numbered from 1-150 whereas 10 cross-matching type questions would be serially numbered from 151-160.

(iii) Marking scheme: Each correctly answered multiple-choice, objective type question will earn four marks whereas each correctly answered cross-matching type question will earn 5 marks (1 mark for each correct pairing) with a maximum of 650 marks for each major subject-group paper. For each incorrectly answered multiple-choice, objective type question, one mark would be deducted from the total score whereas for each incorrectly answered cross-matching type sub-question/pairing, 0.2 marks would be deducted from the total score. Question with no response indicated will not be awarded any mark and there will be no negative marking for that question. The candidates are advised not to attempt such questions in the OMR answer sheet, for which they are not sure of the correct answer. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect answer and will invite negative marking.

(iv) Candidate will be required to choose the correct answer and mark in the OMR answer sheet by shading/ darkening the corresponding circle/bubble against the serial number of the question with HB pencil or with black ball-point pen at his/her choice.

(v) Syllabi for the 20 Major Subject-groups for the entrance examination are given at ANNEXURE-I.

Examination City Centres
(i) A list of Examination City Centres with codes and the contact addresses of Nodal Officer at those cities is given in ANNEXURE-VI.

(ii) Candidate must fill the numeric and alphabetic codes for the Examination City Centre from where he/she opts to appear for the Examination.

(iii) The Examination City Centre, once opted, shall not be changed.The Admit Card (Candidate Copy) is to be retained by the candidate and no change is possible. In case of any problem, please contact COE on telephone around third week of May 2011.

Information Bulletin with Application Form can be obtained, in person, by depositing an account payee bank draft of amount mentioned above and from the sale counters at the following ICAR Institutions:

B. Candidates can also obtain Information Bulletin with Application Form by sending a written request (on plain paper) along with an Account Payee Bank draft of the amount specified (9) above and also an unstamped self addressed envelope (size 30cm x 25cm). The request should be addressed to: “The Controller of Examination (Education), Room No. 216, ICAR, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi-110012." No request for supply of Information Bulletin by post will be accepted after 10th February 2011.

C. Downloading Application Form & Information Bulletin: The Application form can also be downloaded during 27.12.2010 to 15.02.2011 from ICAR website (http://www.icar.org.in), take a print-out on A-4 size, good quality thick photocopy paper, fill-in as per instructions and submit by post or in person (without folding), along with Bank Draft of amount as specified in (9) above, to the office of Controller of Examination, Education Division, Room No. 216, ICAR, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi-110012.

The A/c payee bank draft should be drawn in favour of “ICAR Unit - Education Division” payable at “New Delhi” and candidate should write the details of his/ her name and address on the back of the Bank Draft. It may be checked that the Bank Draft contains the name of the issuing bank and branch, signature of the issuing authority, amount in words, date of draft etc. clearly. In no case, ICAR will be held responsible for non-receipt of the application and bank draft or delay in postage.

The last date for the receipt of Applications in the office of “The Controller of Examinations (Education), Room No. 216, ICAR, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi–110012" for both UG and PG examinations is 15th February 2011. However for the candidates belonging to certain remote areas viz., Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti district and Pangi Sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep, the last date of receipt is 22nd February 2011. Applications received after the last date will be summarily rejected and Education Division, ICAR shall not be responsible for non-receipt of applications within the time schedule due to postal delay or any other reasons for delay. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to check his/her eligibility for admission before applying. ICAR will not be held responsible for refusing admission to any non-eligible candidate at the time of Counseling or later. All disputes relating to the conduct of these examinations or any matter connected with this advertisement shall be in the jurisdiction of DELHI COURT only.

ICAR’s 16th ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO BACHELOR (AIEEA-UG-2011) AND MASTER (AIEEA-PG-2011) DEGREE PROGRAMS IN

Question Paper for AIEEA-UG-2011:
There will be only one question paper consisting of 180 multiple-choice objective type questions, in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Agriculture) for “STREAM–A” and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for “STREAM–B”. The question paper will be in ENGLISH and HINDI.

Question Paper for AIEEA-PG-2011:
There will be only one question paper in each major subject group consisting of 150 multiple-choice, objective type questions, and also 10 cross-matching type questions.

Cost of Information Bulletin with Application form:
AIEEA-UG-2011: ` 400/- for General, OBC and UPS categories and ` 200/- for S.C., S.T. and P.H. categories.

AIEEA-PG-2011: ` 500/- for General, OBC and UPS categories and ` 250/- for S.C., S.T. and P.H.
categories

In addition, ` 25/- per Bulletin would be charged as handling charges plus service tax as applicable, in case of purchase against cash, whereas ` 50/- per Bulletin should be added in the Bank Draft amount towards postal expenses, if requested to be sent by post.

ICAR’s 16th ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO BACHELOR (AIEEA-UG-2011) AND MASTER (AIEEA-PG-2011) DEGREE PROGRAMS IN AGRICULTURE AND ALLIED SCIENCES AT AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES FOR
2011-12.

NOTIFICATION
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) invites applications from Indian Nationals, in the prescribed format, for ICAR’s 16th AIEEA-UG-2011 and AIEEA-PG-2011 on 100% seats at ICAR-Deemed Universities (Bachelor degree at NDRI Karnal only while Master degrees at IARI, IVRI, NDRI and CIFE), and on 15% seats (tentative) for Bachelor degrees and 25% seats (tentative) for Master degrees at State Agricultural Universities, Central Agricultural University Imphal, Central Universities with Agricultural Faculty (Banaras Hindu University, Viswa Bharati, Nagaland University and Aligarh Muslim University (for PG only)) and SHIATS Allahabad for the academic session 2011-12. Bachelor Degree programmes (viz. B.Sc./B.Tech./B.F.Sc. etc.) are in the subjects of Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Forestry, Food Science, Fisheries Sciences, Home Science, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing, Banking & Co-operation, and Commercial Agriculture & Business Management. Master’s Degree programmes are in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agri. Engineering, Home Science, Biotechnology, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, Veterinary, and allied sciences. Based on the results of AIEEA-UG-2011 examination, National Talent Scholarships(NTS) are awarded to Bachelor degree students whereas based on the merit-rank in AIEEA-PG-2011 examination, 475 ICAR-Junior Research Fellowships(JRF) are awarded to Master's degree students. (This examination does not include admission to Bachelor degree programmes in Veterinary Sciences.) Additional details can be seen in the respective Information Bulletins.

1. Dates of Examination:
UG: Saturday, the 16th April 2011 during 10:00-12:30 hrs
PG: Sunday, the 17th April 2011 during 10:00-12:30 hrs

3. Eligibility Criteria:

3.1. Age:
For AIEEA-UG-2011: Between 17 and 23 years as on 31st August 2011.
(UG Examination) (must have been born between 01.09.1988 to 01.09.1994).
For AIEEA-PG-2011: Not less than 19 years as on 31st August 2011.
(PG Examination) (must not have been born after 01.09.1992)

3.2. Qualifying Examination:

3.2.1. For AIEEA-UG-2011:
Must have passed and obtained not less than 50% marks in aggregate for admission under General, UPS and OBC categories or 40% marks in aggregate for admission under SC, ST and PH categories in 10+2 examination or equivalent/Inter (Agriculture) with PCM/ PCB/ PCMB/ PCA/ PCH subject combinations. Candidate having compartment/ supplementary in any subject in 10+2 examination is not eligible. Candidate appearing for 10+2 examination can also apply but shall produce 10+2 pass certificate with required % marks at the time of counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities.

3.2.2. For AIEEA-PG-2011:
Bachelor’s degree (or appearing in final year examination), in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic and allied sciences under 10+2+5 or 10+2+4 years degree programmes, (Few seats are also available for candidates having Bachelor degree with 10+2+3 year degree programme) with required Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 6.60/10, 3.25/5, 2.60/4 for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) categories the said requirement is an OGPA of 5.60/10, 2.75/5, 2.20/4 respectively. In other cases, where gradepoints are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/PH the requirement is 50% marks (Equivalence between OGPA and % marks will not be acceptable). For admission in M.V.Sc, candidate must have completed B.V.Sc. & AH including internship on the date of counseling. The in-service candidates, seeking admission to ICAR-Deemed universities, should see their respective website.

4. National Talent Scholarship (NTS) is awarded to candidates selected through AIEEA-UG-2011 examination and if joining an Agricultural University located outside their state of domicile.

5. ICAR-JRF(Post Graduate Studies) (PGS): Based on the merit in the AIEEA-PG-2011 examination, about 475 ICAR-Junior Research Fellowships for postgraduate studies (ICARJRF(PGS)) in 20 major subject groups are awarded for two years in Agricultural Universities including State Agricultural Universities, CAU and CUs with agriculture faculty, SHIATS Allahabad and ICAR-DUs, provided their Bachelor degree is not from the same AU (except NDRI Karnal) and the candidates take admission outside their State of domicile. Candidates, currently studying for their Master’s degree in 1st year, can also appear in AIEEA-PG-2011 examination for securing ICARJRF( PGS). However, if a ICAR-JRF(PGS) holder seeks fresh admission, entire amount of fellowship received by him/her shall have to be refunded with interest and he/she will not be entitled for fresh ICAR-JRF(PGS).

6. Reservation: 15% seats in all subjects are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Horizontal reservation of 3% for Physically Handicapped (PH), and 2% for Under-Privileged States (UPS) category is also available. Reservation for OBC in Central Educational Institutions/ Universities will be as per Government of India directives/ University rules. Reservation in PH and UPS categories will be horizontal across all categories, i.e. such candidates would draw their seat from the SC/ST/OBC/GEN categories to which they may belong.

BITSAT Entrance Exam Date Eligibility Application Form Pattern Center

BITSAT Exam Conducted by BIT     

BITSAT is the entrance exam organized to give admission in Birla Institute of Technology and Science for its bachelor engineering programs in various campuses like Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Dissimilar to other entrance tests, BITSAT isn’t like paper based test. It’s an online test. BITS also offer opportunities for topper students to get direct admission in institutes without the entrance exam in particular course. This exam consists of short - tricky questions associated to subjects like physics, chemistry and mathematics. 

Eligibility 
Minimum eligibility criteria needed to appear for BITSAT is the candidates have to pass 12th standard with minimum of 80% marks in total in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects. Also the candidate should need to score minimum 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics each. 

Examination Pattern
BITSAT is the online test having 3 hours time. There are 150 objective questions and each has four options. For every correct answer, candidate obtains 3 marks. For every incorrect answer, candidate will loose 1 mark. The 150 questions are divided like this: Physics-40, Mathematics-45, Chemistry-40, Logical Reasoning-10 and English Proficiency-15. If any candidate completes all the 150 questions with time to spare, s/he can go at 12 extra questions given from Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The BITSAT syllabus is similar to the syllabus of NCERT 11th - 12th standard.

Maharashtra MHT CET Entrance Exam Date Eligibility Application Form

Govt of Maharashtra conducts one common entrance test called MHT-CET to all Health Sciences, Pharmacy and Engineering degree courses. Merit list of above examination will be exploited for admission in Government or Municipal Corporation or government aided colleges for Health sciences courses OR Government or university managed colleges or university departments or autonomous colleges counting ICT, Mumbai as well as unaided private pharmacy and engineering degree colleges. 

For selection process, it will be split capable authorities. For selection of Health science courses, DMER (Director of Medical Education and Research) Mumbai is a capable authority. For selecting to pharmacy and engineering degree courses, DTE (Director of Technical Education), (DTE), Mumbai is the capable authority. 

Eligibility
Qualifying eligibility for examination of MHT-CET is the HSC or the same examination with conditions of eligibility as definite in respective brochure(s). Maharashtra state candidates, who are appearing for HSC or the same examination or else who had passed the qualifying examination previously, and want to appear for MHT-CET, will get the application form from the respective colleges or schools from where they had passed the qualifying examination.

All the brochures for Pharmacy, Engineering and Health science are accessible on websites www.dmer.org and www.dte.org.in. Aspirant candidates must go through eligibility criteria according to respective MHT-CET brochures, earlier than purchasing application form.

The cost of application form with 3 MHT-CET information brochures and the Exam fee is Rs 700/- to open category as well as all outside Maharashtra students and Rs 500/- to reserve category candidates who are from Maharashtra state only. The amount is non-refundable.

The students from OMS (Out Side Maharashtra) may buy MHT-CET application form as well as information brochure(s) from whichever authority office stated in annexure-A through submitting Rs. 700 demand draft favoring proficient authority, MHT-CET, at Mumbai also payable at Mumbai from any scheduled bank. All the OMS students mentioned should exhibit related documents to divisional authority at application submission time.
