Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PGDFM)
Applicants should have (a) at least a three-year bachelors degree in any discipline obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PD) or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing for the final year graduation examination are also eligible to apply provided they complete it before June 30, 2011 and fulfill the eligibility criteria as set by IIFM.
Common Admission Test (CAT)
All applicants desirous of seeking admission in PGDFM at IIFM, Bhopal have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) by responding to their notification published in leading national dailies. IIFM will use the CAT score only for short-listing the candidates for two year full time post graduate programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion and Interview at IIFM, Bhopal during February/March 2011.
27%, 15%, 7.5% and 3% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the OBC-Non-Creamy, SC, ST, and PD respectively, provided they meet the minimum selection criteria as specified by IIFM.

Indian Institute of Forest Management, IIFM Bhopal
The two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PGDFM) was launched in July, 1988 for young graduates from all over the country, belonging to different streams of knowledge to meet the requirement of professional managerial manpower in forestry and allied sectors. Students are awarded with Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management. PGDFM is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and equated to a corresponding Masters Degree of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
The PGDFM Programme comprises of six terms of class-room teaching, two field work components and one summer internship component. At the end of the second term of class room teaching, they under go the first field work component. After the third term of class-room teaching, the students undergo summer internship for a period of ten weeks. After the fifth term of class-room teaching, the students undergo the second field work component designed for specialization modules.
